Akira Ikezoe

Akira Ikezoe (b. 1979, Kochi, Japan) completed his BA at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan, and lives and works in New York.
He is a participating artist in The Sharjah Biennial 16 (2025). His solo and two-person exhibitions include shows at Proyectos Ultravioleta, Guatemala City; Marinaro, New York; Brennan and Griffin, New York; and the Ise Cultural Foundation, New York; and The Sunday Painter, London. Akira was featured in a two-person booth at Art Basel Miami Beach (2022) and Frieze London (2023) with Proyectos Ultravioleta.
His work has been included in multiple group exhibitions including the 8th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, the 12th Seoul Mediacity Biennale, and the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) in Morocco. He is the recipient of two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants, and the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts studio grant.
